Your Insurance

Health insurance policies vary greatly. If, after reading this page, you still have questions regarding whether SSPT services are covered by your insurance plan, call our office at 202-463-7611 and ask to speak to a staff member who can help you determine and understand your benefits.

Medicare

SSPT is a participating provider with Medicare.

Worker’s Compensation

SSPT accepts Worker’s Compensation patients.

Health insurance coverage

SSPT is a non-participating (that is, out-of-network) provider with all health insurance plans except Medicare. Many insurance plans provide benefits for physical therapy services provided by out-of-network providers.

Health insurance plans, policies, and terms vary greatly, and each person’s health care needs and expenditure is unique. It is therefore impossible for us to provide generalizations that will apply to each patient in the same way. To avoid billing surprises, SSPT will contact your health insurer to determine your benefits and provide you with details before your first appointment.

Filing of insurance claims

SSPT files our patients' primary insurance claims as a courtesy whenever possible, which frees you from the paperwork headache associated with the filing of your own claims. Even though SSPT submits claims on your behalf, you are still responsible for ensuring that the insurance company properly processes your claims.

Assignment of payments

SSPT accepts assignment (that is, direct payment) from most major health insurance plans when filing the insurance claims on behalf of a patient. This means that your insurance plan will pay SSPT if we file your claims. At the time of treatment, you are responsible only for the portion of the bill that your insurance company does not pay.
