Caroline’s fascination with anatomy and physiology led her to the field of physical therapy. She attended the University of St. Augustine where she earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Passionate about her profession, what Caroline loves most about being a physical therapist is helping people who have neurological and orthopedic diagnoses restore function and improve their quality of life.
Caroline adopts a holistic health approach and places high value on using integrative treatment, never hesitating to elicit the help of a colleague or alternative health care professional if needed. Caroline strives to empower patients to be their own best advocates as she encourages them to become attuned to their bodies and begin to use self-knowledge to guide and modify their treatment plan.
Caroline’s strong manual therapy background has led her to become a very hands-on therapist. She strives to not only treat the specific problem occurring in a patient but also to investigate any potential sources of dysfunction within the kinetic chain.
Second to her passion for physical therapy is her love for yoga. Caroline immersed herself in yogic culture during a residence at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. She is a certified Kripalu yoga instructor and often infuses her physical therapy treatments with yogic concepts, such as body awareness, breathing techniques, and specific postures for strength and flexibility.
Caroline is also a certified Polestar Pilates instructor who finds the Pilates approach to be an invaluable adjunct to her physical therapy treatment. She incorporates both the apparatus and mat-based exercises in clients’ rehabilitation programs, and she uses the Pilates principles to treat a wide variety of clients. Other interests include nutrition, wellness, and preventive and alternative medicine. She recently became certified in Reiki.
Outside of her professional life, Caroline enjoys the great outdoors and frequently goes paddleboarding, kayaking, hiking, jogging, and biking. Caroline is a huge supporter of the local food movement and can often be found at weekly farmer’s markets.
